Escaping the hustle and bustle of Mumbai almost a month ago, I (Urmi) went for a much needed getaway for nothing but just to meet my family after over two long years. As time flies in a jiffy, and its now time to get back to the grind soon (sob sob)!
So let me rewind to the start of the trip. I was here for my sister's baby shower, shuffling around New Jersey & Virginia for most of my trip, ending now in San Jose. This was a much better time to visit than I did in winters, although I did enjoy bundling up and wearing amazing winter wear, much impossible to do thanks to Mumbai's weather. The climate is now a tad bit sunny and sometimes pleasantly nippy. There is just enough of sun with a chill in the air, making it the perfect time to visit and gives you that cheerful, sun-on-my-face, wind-in-my-hair vibes that is simply irreplaceable, you know what I'm talking about!
Returning with some amazing memories and this super fun shoot with my multi-talented sister at The Burnside Farms (Virginia) is one of them. This place is a small seasonal farm and we were lucky to find blooming sunflowers while we were around. It was ideal, and felt like I was in dreamland. They now have some really amazing pumpkins ready for spooky Halloween.
As is apparent from my Instagram and other blogposts, I am obsessed with tassels! You will spot them on me quite often & this dress was love at first sight. Tassels add a very bohemian feel to your look like this dress and what's adding on to these beautiful images is the contrasting blue and yellow. Moreover, off shoulders are super in vogue these days. The 70's fashion is totally making a comeback and we are all for it. The off shoulder look coupled with the tassels really gives it a dreamy vintage woodstock vibe, and of course the location completed it.
Shopping tip: If you are a 'value for money' shopper, you should definitely look out for these places when in The United States of America - Target, Ross - Dress for Less, Marshalls, Michaels (for DIY supplies) and Burlington Coat Factory. These are my go-to shop places as you get a lot of unusual and one of a kind items at a very reasonable price.
