Mixing it up
If there’s one fashion go-to we love, it’s the timeless classic, stripes. That’s the kind of effortless versatility it exudes. Think about it. Any occasion, any style, any color. It really doesn’t get more moldable than with this favorite. From street style casuals, to ethnic wear and even its popularity as a nautical look. Stripes are all that and more and in recent years with maximalism becoming a much-lauded style of dressing, statement stripes have done exactly that, made a statement.
We’re not much for following and keeping up with the ever-changing dynamic trends that make their comeback every few decades or so. What we are up for though, are the classics that stick around forever and are called exactly that for a reason.
We decided to mix it up a tad bit this time and brought the best of both worlds together. Statement stripes, for those who are fans of the classic but don’t mind jujing up their outfits every now and then. We experimented with just that.
Hemal does statement stripes in a loose fit bold stripe number. If you ever doubted pulling off wearing a dress over pants, look no further. It really is easy as is. Keeping the color palette tri-colored helps keep the maximalist outfit relatively simple in style and big on impact. And gold sneakers also, always do the trick!
Urmi goes for a calmer palette and lets her print do the work for her. The blue chevron perfectly complements the light flowy airiness of the dress. Ripped jeans add the right touch of edginess to the look, topped off with nude hued heels.
Sometimes, you can just go big in simple silhouettes. No need to go home. Less is more, but more can also be more. Know what we mean? Laters!
